About Ben
Ben joined McCreath Simpson & Prentice as Technical Officer in 2016 after graduating from the University of Leeds with a degree in Biology in 2015.
While in his role as Technical Officer, Ben earned his FACTS and BASIS qualifications, while also being an active member of the BASIS Environmental Advisors Register.
In May 2021, Ben became Sustainability Manager for Simpsons Malt Ltd. This role sees him working alongside the Executive Team to develop the company's sustainability strategy and managing its delivery, while also working alongside functional managers to devise and deliver agreed implementation plans and develop relationships with key sustainability stakeholders to ensure strategy alignment.
On the agricultural side, Ben's role means he is heavily involved with all aspects of practical agronomy and on-farm advice, soil and nutrient management planning and carbon reduction strategies. This also includes working alongside farming customers to maximise yield and only applying inputs where justified, ultimately working to reduce the carbon footprint of the resulting crop.
