About John
John grew up on a small family sheep farm and horse livery in Newcastle-upon-Tyne.
In 1989, John went to Kirkley Hall Agricultural College in Northumberland and attained a National Diploma in Agriculture. After graduating in 1993, he spent a year travelling Australia and New Zealand, gaining invaluable experience.
Upon his return to the UK in 1994, John spent one year working on local farms and then, in 1995, he got a job at a livestock marketing business, buying and selling livestock – a role he remained in until he joined MSP as a Farm Trader in 2010.
In his role, John works with farmers in Northumberland, Durham, Cumbria and even as far south as Yorkshire.
Away from work, John is heavily involved with Morpeth Rugby Club and competes in Horse Carriage Driving.
